Graduate Jobs

As many of you will have already found out getting your first job after graduation is not always straightforward and the idea of walking into your ideal job is even less likely. Despite your hard work at university you still have the problem of overcoming employers resistance to new recruits with a lack of experience.

There are numerous web-sites available to job-seekers at present but many of these do not cater directly for the university graduate.

We have examined the resources on the internet for graduates and recent graduates who are looking for jobs or career advice and list some of the best here with details of the services they provide.

Some of the sites listed publish vacancies online whereas others are recruitment consultants who require you to register with them and advise you of suitable positions as they become available. We do not recommend any of these sites over the others in terms of their integrity or ability to get you a job but leave it to you to determine which is most appropriate.

Jobsearch Let GraduateFinance.Com help take the effort out of your jobsearch.

Sites have been split up into three sections:
graduate GRADUATE SITES are those aimed specifically at graduates or have a substantial section devoted to, or of use to graduates. They either advertise relevant jobs online or have features and advice which is especially useful. We have marked with a star those that appear to be most useful and offer a very comprehensive and useful service for graduates.

map The section on REGIONAL SITES is for those which focus on a specific geographical area, typically part of the UK. These are limited in number but are being added to all the time.

general The final section is for GENERAL SITES which contains links to those not specifically aimed at graduates but may nevertheless be of use. This includes the main national daily newspaper job sections and sites such as Monster and Stepstone.
When visiting the graduate or regional sections hold the mouse over the link to view a brief outline of the main features of a site, then if it is of interest click on it to visit that site in a new window.
